Our colleagues and the communities where we do business
Our commitment to create a positive social impact for our colleagues, stakeholders and local communities continues to be an area of focus for us.
Diversity, equity and inclusion
Recruiting, developing and retaining diversity amongst our colleagues is an important part of our commitment to building inclusivity within McBride.
Our leaders play a pivotal role in creating an equitable and inclusive culture, where every colleague feels valued and empowered to contribute to our overall success – we have this year run tailored workshops for our senior teams on diversity, equity and inclusion, DEI.
Health, safety and wellbeing
Our Rules for Life encourage all colleagues to stop work if they see conditions or behaviours that are unsafe for themselves or others. This primary focus is further demonstrated by the Group Health and Safety Lead reporting directly to the CEO, supported by dedicated health and safety professionals at a local level in each country.
We encourage colleagues to share their views through our health and wellbeing survey and support our colleagues and their families through our McBride Cares Employee Assistance Programme that provides a 24/7/365 confidential telephone counselling support line.
Skills for future employment
It is important that we equip our colleagues with the necessary skills for a lifetime of meaningful employment, so we continue to invest in growth opportunities through our development and coaching schemes.
Community and social vitality
Community engagement programmes enhance our relationships with our communities and colleagues, which in turn strengthens our business.
Our charitable aims support colleagues, community and the wider society, through donating money, time or products in support of our purpose to help families keep their homes clean and hygienic.
Our new McBride Gives volunteering scheme is encouraging teams to engage in a community programme in their local areas, with a particular focus on supporting people in poverty.
Our team in Poland commented that, “We are proud to be the first team in McBride to support the McBride Gives scheme, with over 50 colleagues spending 1 day supporting the House of Hope. Run by volunteers and the clergy of Opole, it provides food, clothes and access to basic hygiene facilities, helping to provide shelter and dignity.”
